Ethnographic Museum of Paphos

The Ethnographic Museum is a private museum opened in 1958 and consists of the collection of the late George Eliades - an intellectual who had a keen interest in archeology, history, folk art and literature and collected art treasures from the countryside and Cyprus. especially from the Pafos area. It is housed in an 1894 two-storey stone-built building with three unusual Gothic arches and beautiful gardens. Exhibits include: apparel (mainly rural), carved wooden traditional furniture, Venetian mirrors, agricultural tools, kitchen utensils, clay objects, looms and textiles, along with archaeological finds dating mainly from the Chalcolithic Period, and others , jewelry, amphorae and water jugs.
